Producing Green Energy From A Variety Of Waste And Knocking Down Global Warming At The Same Time – Priceless !

CgiFq21 From Waste To Green Energy Power PlantsEcho Energy Group, based out of South Carolina, is driven towards the total realization of the Waste To Energy (WTE) program. In its pursuit to serve industries and communities, Echo Energy provides a solution to trash reduction and resources optimization. Echo Energy Group has introduced an outstanding innovation in waste disposal: gasification. Echo Energy’s gasification technology was developed by NASA in the early 1980s and has been successfully tried and tested by the Department of Energy. This breakthrough in waste management gives communities and industries a great opportunity to profit and at the same time uphold a cleaner and greener environment for our present and future generations.

A gasifier is not an incinerator. Gasification is a process that heats and converts carbon based feedstocks into combustible fuel comprised largely of carbon monoxide and hydrogen. In the gasifer, a limited amount of air is used to partially combust a fraction of the fuel. The heat generated breaks down the remaining feedstock to form a gas, commonly called syngas or producer gas. This highly combustible gas can be readily burned to provide process heat and steam or produce renewable electricity. During the process, contaminants that are unsafe to Mother Earth (e.g. sulfur oxide and nitrous oxide) are removed. Moreover, the presence of carbon dioxide is also captured to reduce greenhouse emissions. Thus, the importance of gasification lies in the drawing out of energy from various types of organic resources and the elimination of its destructive elements.

biomass gasification2 From Waste To Green Energy Power PlantsThe byproduct of the gasification process is bio-char, used for soil remediation, plastic, steel, glass, fabric, paint, ink and many other manufacturing processes. Plus bio-char is a way for carbon to be drawn from the atmosphere and since bio-char can sequester carbon in the soil for hundreds to thousands of years, it has received considerable interest as a potential tool to slow global warming. The burning and natural decomposition of trees and agricultural matter contributes a large amount of CO2 released to the atmosphere. Bio-char can store this carbon in the ground, potentially making a significant reduction in atmospheric GHG (Green House Gas) levels and at the same time its presence in the earth can improve water quality, increase soil fertility, raise agricultural productivity

Echo Energy’s gasifier is a modular design for ease of installation as well as the ability to add capacity. It offers the most efficient and effective energy producing gasification technology on the market today. Their technology allows for the process of previously unusable waste material to create electricity to power our schools, businesses and homes.

Guaranteed ZERO harmful emission.
Operates with a power of 30 megawatts with 1,000 TPD (tons per day of waste)
.6 x Tons Per Day (TPD) = mW created, for example: 1,000 TPD x .6 = 600 mW per day (1mW powers 5,000 homes).
It extends the life of existing landfills up to 20 times longer (200 years) through 90% mass reduction.
Processes multiple feedstocks and other wastes such as Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), Tire Derived Fuels (TDF)-(What? Old tires! Thank you!), agricultural residues, corn stovers and cobs, rice straws or wheat straws, oat hulls, bran, wood chips and barks, urban trimmings, C & D wastes, bio-refining residues, energy crops, sugar cane biogases, landfill gases, bio-solids and paper sludge.

Echo Energy’s process utilizes a large, slow-turning auger to move feedstock through the gasification chamber. This offers the advantage of controlled retention time, allowing the feedstock flow to be slowed down or sped up, depending on need. Separate air zone stages and gas bypass duct provide added control and flexibility, giving Echo’s gasification technology the ability to process a wide range of different feedstocks, including those with high-moisture content (<50%) and minimal size reduction.

Here are some home remedies to take care of a few maladies!

healing heart holistically1 Who knew?I know that many of you have heard of these but they bear repeating for all of us who have not. Let’s just save some money.

Did you know that drinking two glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain almost immediately-without the unpleasant side effects caused by traditional pain relievers?

Did you know that Colgate Toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns?

Before you head to the drugstore for a high-priced inhaler filled with mysterious chemicals, try chewing on a couple of curiously strong Altoids peppermints. They’ll clear up your stuffed nose.

Achy muscles from a bout of the flu
? Mix 1 tablespoon horseradish in 1 cup of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil for instant relief for aching muscles.
Sore throat? Just mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1/4 cup of honey and take 1 tablespoon six times a day. The vinegar kills the bacteria.

Cure urinary tract infections with Alka-Seltzer. Just dissolve two tablets in a glass of water and drink it at the onset of the symptoms. Alka-Seltzer begins eliminating urinary tract infections almost instantly-even though the product was never advertised for this use.

Honey remedy for skin blemishes.
.. cover the blemish with a dab of honey and place a Band-Aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile, and speeds healing. Works overnight.

Listerine therapy for toenail fungus
: Get rid of unsightly toenail fungus by soaking your toes in Listerine Mouthwash. The powerful antiseptic leaves your toenails looking healthy again.

Easy eyeglass protection… to prevent the screws in eyeglasses from loosening, apply a small drop of Maybelline Crystal Clear Nail Polish to the threads of the screws before tightening them.

Cleaning liquid that doubles as bug killer… if menacing bees, wasps, hornets, or yellow jackets get in your home and you can’t find the insecticide, try a spray of Formula 409. Insects drop to the ground instantly.

Smart splinter remover: Just pour a drop of Elmer’s Glue-All over the splinter, let dry, and peel the dried glue off the skin. The splinter sticks to the dried glue.

A Reason For Fish Swimming In Schools Leads To Better Wind Efficiency AND Revisiting A Wind Catcher Start-up

dn19492 1 3001 Neptune Teaches Mariah How To Help EarthMariah: In November, 2008, Forced Green posted an article called “…And They Call The Wind Mariah…”   About a green start-up company called Mariah Power that was regonized as “Best of What’s New” by Popular Science in 2008, for their Windspire vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT).

Since then, they have hit the ground running and on April 5th, 2010 Mariah Power officially changed its name to Windspire Energy Inc. The change was made to clarify confusion in the marketplace between the corporate name – Mariah Power – and the product name – Windspire.

Want one – or a hundred?

That said, the old sales adage – location, location, location – can now refer to green energy. Especially in the realm of VAWT.

Neptune: Professor John Dabiri, director of the Biological Propulsion Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology (CalTech), has a research program at a CalTech field laboratory called FLOWE (Field Laboratory for Optimized Wind Energy). With support by the National Science Foundation and Windspire Energy, the primary objective of this research is to achieve significant increases in the power extracted per unit land area of wind farms. This directly translates to reductions in land use and transmission costs for traditional onshore wind energy efforts, while making urban and offshore wind farms a more practical solution in the future.

5KS5fK1 Neptune Teaches Mariah How To Help EarthInspiration for FLOWE’s research comes from the turbulence created by fish schools. One reason fish swim in schools is that it allows them to speed up the water around them and travel up to six times further than swimming alone. Modifying the hydrodynamic mathematical equations for this effect for aerodynamic results, the team found optimum turbine placements.

Only vertical turbines can be utilized and benefit from this research because the most common three-propellered horizontal (HAWT) turbines require significant inter-turbine spacing in order to avoid destructive aerodynamic interference between turbines. But a VAWT farm positioned in this way could generate 10 times the power of the normally more efficient HAWT farm of the same area.

The sea teaches the wind how to help the planet …
…and they still call the wind Mariah …..
