Modern School Design in Glasgow, UK by GM+AD Architects – Getting Schooled in the Modern

Glasgow’s Hazelwood School for the Sensory Impaired not only inspires its students, but since opening its sleek new doors this month, it’s quickly become an inspiration for architects and architecture aficionados world-wide. Modern School Design in Glasgow, UK by GM+AD Architects – Getting Schooled in the Modern modern, multi-award-winning school design by GM+AD Architects features a low profile and a winding shape that ebbs and flows with the natural curves of the landscape and existing nature. Clad in timber, this structure not only respects nature, but is also blends beautifully with the surrounding lime and beech trees. The school undulating layout also creates outdoor courtyards hugged by the building itself. The structure’s shape, beautiful as it is from the exterior, also works double-duty on interiors to maximize the area within a limited plot of land, while allowing for easy traffic flow of students. Sweet Design – Modern Nestlé Chocolate Museum in Toluca, Mexico by Rojkind Arquitectos

Sweet Design – Modern Nestlé Chocolate Museum in Toluca, Mexico by Rojkind Arquitectos modern structure is a first for Mexico in more ways than one. Designed by Rojkind Arquitectos, Nestlé Chocolate Museum in Toluca, Mexico, is the first chocolate museum south of the border, and also boasts a first when it comes to architectural flair. The 1,000-sq.-ft. red facade is a roadside attraction for anyone driving along the freeway. A gaping mouth reveals interiors of white, and leads into a 6,824-sq.-ft. entrance where the Mexican version of the Wonka tour begins. The design incorporates a theater, a shop, and a series of bending tunnels that lead into the adjoining chocolate factory. Interiors highlight the playful complexities visible from the “folded” origami-inspired exterior. Rojkind Arquitectos.

Latest Modern Architecture – Walter Towers by Bjarke Ingels Group in Prague, Czech Republic

Walter Towers in Prague, Czech Republic, is the latest from modern architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group. Walter Towers is an ongoing project, but this recently unveiled design for a modern monument has already made the headlines. The innovative designer’s goal was to create an ultra-contemporary structure that would continue in the region’s architectural tradition of cluster building, while ushering in a new wave of fresh urban design in its wake. The result is this unusual grouping of four towers in one continuous structure. Walter Towers is a combination of office and residential space, all connected within a W formation, lending the project a modern fluidity while maintaining Prague’s architectural integrity.
