Satellite Leather Recliner by Professor Stefan Heiliger
“Satellite” was designed by Professor Stefan Heiliger. This leather recliner has a “space like” appeal to it resembling the seating featured in the cartoon movie, the Jetsons. Professor Heileger stresses a triangular shape for the backrest that readily becomes visible in the top down view of the recliner. The table and leg rest are optional features for the chair. Price: $4,658 – $6,480. Available: here.

Put this Chaise Lounge Recliner into 5th Gear
A dream in any home is a special place to sit after a hard day where once you sit those bad memories begin to fade. Rolf Benz designed a chaise lounge recliner with that very premise in mind. Each time when I see this piece I ask myself, “Can I take that furniture for a test drive?” If I were to “test drive” it, I would put it into 5th gear and not look back. With a book or TV remote in hand, life would be getting back on track. A unique feature is that this chaise lounge does recline making it more like a traditional recliner. More information about the chaise lounge recliner can be found here.

Medical Furniture Recliner and NeoCon Gold Award Winner
None of us want to be in a situation where we need medical treatment. Worse yet is when you have to rely on family, friends, or medical professionals to assist you in your daily activities. So when it comes to medical furniture, how aesthetically pleasing is that to your house design? Typically, medical design focuses more on functionality as opposed to visual appeal. The Open Arms Patient Chair from Cabot Wrenn goes against the grain with this piece which was a winner of the NeoCon Gold Award in 2008. The medical furniture recliner is designed to provide improved access to the patient and to help the patient get out of the chair. My favorite aspect of this piece is its good looks. Pictured here in leather, Open Arms comes in many other leather colors and fabric options as well. More information can be found here.
The New Age of Recliners by La Z Boy Furniture
When it comes to recliners, nobody has more knowledge or history than La Z Boy. Sure more recent time has spawned their full collection of living room furniture including seating for every application but the recliner remains their forte. I am pleasantly surprised to see the “Carlyle” that has design inspiration dating back to the art deco era of the 1930-s. I especially like the curved Maple arms that contrast the straight lines of the boxed border seat and back. Overall – Height: 39.5″ Width: 32.5″ Depth: 39″ Seat – Height: 20.5″ Width: 22″ Depth: 21″ The La Z Boy website can help you visualize all the fabric options with the “Customize Products” helper. Perfect White Chair for your Living Room
I know it is a bold statement the “perfect white chair for your living room”. Obviously, we all have somewhat different design tastes. But, let-s break this down a bit further. The perfect chair will sit comfortably, look great, add to the décor of the room, and not dominate the living room. When you think of those four it does become hard to find the right white chair. Pictured here is Tok from Varier. Tok is a recliner that is designed by Toshiyuki Kita and Ole Petter Wullum. An amazing feature of the white chair is the amount of technology that went into its design. The shape and curves are designed to create an effortless seating area that supports the body in all the right places. Norwegians have been famous for their chair designs being some of the most comfortable in the world. Imagine watching a movie from this seat. More information: here.
